Biography

The Fantels was formed in 1975 with Leon brown, Ladely brown and Hal Lewinson They did numerous songs for Joe Gibbs and Errol Thompson where Hooligan was the biggest song In Jamaica in 1977.

Ladely brown departed the group In 1977 and they linked up with Jammy’s and did a number of songs such as: Name of the Game, Everywhere, Where You Gonna Run, Ghetto Girl, A cant hide and many others.

They also linked up with Lee Scratch Perry where they did Stand and look and a few others

By this, Trevor shields from the Belltones which had hits like No More Heartache and a number of other songs. At that time, The Belltones was dismatelled and Trevor shields became a part of the Fantels in 1979.

They considered a name change from Fantels to Belltones however Due to political disputes, a group of people in the audience was unwilling to accepted bells on stage during the Tastee talent show where we were guest artists, they had to
